Equipment Sales

Magwerks has over 26 different standard models of wet horizontal MPI machines and each different model has an average of 42 different options, making the number of possible combinations a fantastic large number to choose from.

If we know what your actual needs are, we can tailor a system to your present and future needs. Magwerks has included an easy to fill out application form on this page, which will provide us with the necessary data to make a meaningfull equipment to part match.

If you require a custom built system this data must be provided to us in order for us to provide a quotation. Custom systems may also require you to send us part samples and. If custom fixturing is required, part drawings may be necessary as well.

After we receive the completed application, a sales technician will contact you if any clarification is necessary. The Magnetic Particle Application Data Sheet is provided to you in PDF form and requires Acrobat Reader to view. You can either fax the application to 317-241-8015 or electronically submit the pdf by uising the submit button on the 2nd page of the document. .

PART PROCEDURE DEVELOPMENT (PPD)

Of all the NDI (Nondestructive Inspection) methods, magnetic particle inspection is the least understood and least quantitative in terms of repeatability and reliability, and is frequently misused. Current density and orientation of the magnetic fields are the principle variables in the magnetic particle inspection method. Rules of thumb and complicated formulas tend to provide an assurance that usually does not exist. To evaluate the orientation and strength of the magnetic fields, Magwerks PPD will use QQI’s (Quantative Quality Indicators) to evaluate component parts and will contain the elements summarized below:

  • Part preparation required before testing
  • The type of magnetizing equipment to be used
  • The magnetizing waveform required
  • Inspection Technique and Special
  • Fixturing required Current density for all magnetizing vectors
  • Type of Magnetic particles and suspension
  • Accept/Reject Criteria Method of Demagnetizing & Measuring Residual fields
  • Post cleaning procedure if necessary

Magwerks will use an FW Bell 5080 unit to assure that the magnetizing density achieve’s a field strength of thirty (30) gauss minimum. A Digital Gaussmeter will be used to measure for residual magnetic fields after each magnetizing sequence. Please see the following links for more information. To receive a quotation for developing a part procedure for your company please fill our Magnetic Particle Application data sheet. You can either fax it to us at 317-241-8015 or use the electronic submit button on the 2nd page of the document.
